We're called Switch Acoustic because that's exactly what we do: We switch. Songs, styles, instruments and lead and backing vocals. This allows for a broad range of sounds and styles that can suit most modern venues and occasions.

Switch Acoustic are an acoustic duo from Perth, Western Australia. We play a vast range of popular songs and styles using guitars, bass, stomp boxes and dual vocals, all supported by high quality professional sound reinforcement and lighting. 

We have two PA's, one HK Audio system for larger venues and a smaller Mackie Reach PA used for more intimate occasions such as venues with limited space or restaurants where volume may need to be kept down.

As well as duo gigs, Brendan can be hired for solo work.

BRENDAN BOYLE

Brendan has been playing guitar and singing for longer than he will admit. Originally classically trained Brendan has since branched out into many other genres including pop, jazz, country, blues, rock and even metal. Brendan has his own unique style that he brings to all of his performances both in his playing and his humour.

Brendan has performed all over Australia, in Europe as well as in South East Asia.  He has recorded as a guest artist and session musician on multiple albums for different performers across country, contemporary and rock genres. He is currently finalising his own album of adult contemporary music for release soon. 

Brendan is studying Composition as well as Electronic Music and Sound Design at the University of Western Australia. In addition to his contemporary music composing he is experimenting with both classical composition and more unusual electronic pieces.

Brendan also performs solo work around Perth in pubs, clubs and restaurants.

Declan Boyle

As the younger half of the duo Declan has been playing guitar and singing since he was old enough to pick a guitar up. He has performed numerous times both with Switch Acoustic and as a solo artist. As well as guitar and bass Declan is also proficient on drums and percussion.

Declan writes his own songs and has performed them live to excellent reviews. 

He is currently studying Japanese Language and Music at the University of Western Australia and intending to make this his full time occupation as both a working musician and teacher. Declan is recording some original music with a view to performing it and also releasing his own album.

Declans musical influences are varied and range from old time country through to modern pop and everything in between. Declan will listen to and play anything, from Chet Atkins to Pantera he is happy as long as there is a melody and a beat he can enjoy.
